Introduction
Throughline's server API lets your own systems keep Contacts in step and record the Events your Journeys react to. It lives at https://server.api.throughline.dk.
Every call needs an API key: a ClientID and a secret, created under Settings → API keys in the app. You exchange the pair for an access token that lasts 15 minutes and send that token with each request.
- Getting started takes you from a new key to a recorded Event.
- Authentication, Scopes and Errors cover what every integration has to handle.
- The guides cover staging, key rotation, moving from Segment or PostHog and recording Events from a browser.
To try the API without writing any code, add a key on the home page and every example in the API reference gets a Run button.
For your own code, the SDKs handle the token exchange, retries and deduplication for you. Every route they call is described in the API reference, with a curl example for each.
